Cliff Dwellings with a Lake Front View

Cliff Dwellings with a Lake Front View

The ancient Sinagua peoples of the Southwest constructed stone dwellings around the rim and shoreline of Montezuma Well in Arizona. This scene was once a limestone cavern that collapsed leaving a hole that is spring fed from an unknown source of water. The water exits the well through an underground tunnel and the the ancient Sinagua people built an irrigation system to water their crops. This is still a very sacred site to several Southwest tribes.
