Hidden Beauty in the Forest
Concealed Doe
I was out exploring in the early morning hours near our camp in the White Mountains of Arizona when I saw this doe mule dear that was alerted by my presence darting into this patch of ferns in the forest. I eased in closer and closer but couldn't see her. I made several passes by and her presence eluded me until a ray of light brushed her ear. I waited a few moments for better light, took a few shots, expressed my gratitude and moved on leaving her to her day. In all that time, she never batted and eyelash or twitched an ear, true masters of eluding detection.
